The maple syrup guy in Vermont got roasted for nothing
Saw a small farm in Stowe get hammered online last month for raising prices to $18 a bottle after a bad season. People called them greedy without knowing their crop failed two years straight. I talked to the owner at a farmers market, he showed me the actual production costs. Canceling a family operation over a 3 dollar hike feels lazy when big brands do the same quietly. Anyone else see small businesses get targeted while corporate price jumps slide by?

Figured people just see the sticker price and lose it without thinking about what goes into it. Maple syrup is a gamble every season, one bad freeze and you're out a whole year of work. That's the real difference, a family farm can't hide those losses by selling a million bottles somewhere else.
