My neighborhood campout always sparks a fight: hammocks vs. traditional tents for comfort. Which side are you on?

Picking sides in this war feels like choosing a favorite child.

My last hammock attempt left me tangled like a pretzel, so maybe tents are safer for clumsy folks like me.

Totally feel you on the hammock struggle. I once spent twenty minutes just trying to get out of mine without face planting. Taylorshah has a point about the group thing too, because you're just stuck in your own rope trap while everyone else is actually hanging out. Tents might be less cool looking but at least you can actually move around without a whole production. Guess some of us are just meant to keep our feet on the ground.

I mean Thomas is right it's a tough choice, but nobody talks about how hammocks basically make you antisocial. You're stuck in your own little bubble while a tent is like a shared hangout spot, especially when it rains. Idk, maybe it's just me but that group factor is a big part of camping comfort for me.
