Unpopular opinion: I stopped pulling new coax runs through old work boxes and my installs got faster
Swapped 20 old nail-on boxes for retrofit rings on one job last month, and each drop went from about 25 minutes to 8. The boxes were never the problem, I was just too stubborn to admit I was redoing work. Anyone else quit a habit they defended for way too long?
Did you fight the retrofit rings at first too? I used to swear by keeping the old boxes because I thought cutting in new ones would mess up the drywall. Tried rings on a small job to save time and now I feel dumb for all the hours I wasted.
