Remembering the old days of cutting dados with a router and a straight edge

Honestly, I used to spend a whole morning setting up jigs for cabinet dados. Now I just dial in the width on my track saw and get it done in minutes. Has anyone else gone back to the old way for certain jobs, or is it all new tools now?

Track saws are great until you need one weird angled dado, then it's back to the router jig and a whole lot of regret. The new tools make you lazy for the simple stuff. I guess we keep the old ways around just to keep us humble.

Ever try to cut a straight line freehand and end up with a modern art piece instead?

Track saws are for straight cuts... a router still handles weird angles way faster than any jig.
