Showerthought: writing down one number per day beat my whole habit tracker
Two years ago I set up a 12 column habit tracker in my journal and quit by week 3 because filling 72 tiny boxes every night felt like a second job. Last month I flipped to a single line at the bottom of each daily log and just wrote the number of pushups I did, nothing else. I've kept it going 27 days straight without once dreading it. Is anyone else's system working better the smaller it gets, or am I just lazy?
Man, the 72 tiny boxes thing hits home, I did the exact same thing with a bullet journal habit grid and made it maybe 19 days before I just stopped opening it. Something about one pushup number feels way less like homework. 27 days is solid, that's not lazy at all.
