My coworker swore by a minimalist weekly spread and I finally caved

I’ve been bullet journaling for about two years now, always doing these big detailed monthly layouts with tons of trackers and color coding. My coworker Julie kept telling me to try a minimalist weekly spread, just dates and a small task list for each day. I ignored her for six months because I thought it would feel boring. Last month I finally gave it a shot after a chaotic 60 hour work week left me no time to decorate. Now I actually stick with my journal every day instead of skipping weeks at a time. Has anyone else found that less really is more when it comes to layouts?

My buddy ditched her color-coded legend and never looked back.

Oh man, my whole workspace would fall apart without my color coded system. I've got sticky notes in three different colors just for my grocery list, let alone anything important. And don't get me started on my calendar - every event type has its own hue. I'm actually jealous of your friend though, she must have some kind of zen master level chill. My brain would just short circuit without those visual cues.
