My library card became my best budget tool this year

I always spent too much on new books every month, maybe $60 or more. It felt like a need, but my wallet was hurting. Then I remembered the public library down the street and finally got a card. Now I go there every couple weeks to pick up novels and even download audiobooks for free. I only buy a book if I know I'll read it over and over. This simple shift has saved me close to $50 each month without giving up my hobby. It's a small victory that makes my overall money plan way easier. Has anyone found similar wins with free local services?

Your math might be a little off there, but the saving is still great right?

Library math might be fuzzy, but free books are still a win.

Did that too when I needed some home repair guides. Grabbed a stack of how-to books from the library instead of buying them all. Saved a bunch and learned what I needed.

Hey, my DIY skills are so bad I'd probably need the library books just to return the library books.
