I bought a year of a budgeting app before trying the free version
So I got excited about this app called 'Penny Pincher' after seeing an ad. They said it would track everything and make a plan for you. I paid $60 for the whole year right away, thinking it would push me to stick with it. Big mistake. The free version does the exact same thing, just with a few less charts. I only used it for maybe three weeks before I went back to my old spreadsheet. Now I'm out $60 for basically nothing. Has anyone else jumped on a paid subscription too fast and regretted it? What's a better way to test these things?

That's a rough way to learn that lesson. Actually, the free version usually has limits the paid one doesn't. Like maybe it only links three bank accounts or something. The real trick is to use the free trial until it locks you out. Then you really know what you're missing, if anything. Makes it way easier to decide if the paid features are worth your cash. Jumping straight to a yearly plan is just asking for regret.

Wait, you paid for a whole YEAR without even trying it first? That's wild! I always need at least a month to see if I'll even open an app again.
