Just compared a $35 bus pass to a rental car for a week in Austin

The bus got me everywhere and saved over $200, plus I didn't have to find parking. Anyone else found a city where public transit was a total game changer?

Seriously, did you ever feel unsafe or just annoyed waiting for buses?

Austin's a pretty spread out city though... a bus pass might work for downtown, but try getting to the Barton Creek greenbelt or that good BBQ place way out east. Waiting in the Texas heat for a transfer that might be late sounds rough. Saving money is cool, but losing hours of your trip sitting at stops isn't really a win.

Ugh, tell me about it. I once waited so long for a bus I started questioning all my life choices.
