Guy at a hostel in Lisbon showed me his $2 airport bus trick and it saved me 15 euros
I was standing in the Lisbon airport last month staring at the taxi line when a guy from Manchester asked if I wanted to split a ride. I said sure, but then he laughed and said he never takes taxis, he just walks to the public bus stop outside the terminal. He pulled up the route on his phone and showed me the ticket machine takes a regular metro card, so it cost me 2 euros instead of the 17 euro flat rate the taxi drivers were quoting. I rode that same bus back to the airport a week later and it took maybe 25 minutes. Has anyone else found a city where the airport bus beats the train on price?
