Showerthought: Why do cheap dinners always take hours to prepare?
My slow cooker soup felt like a second job today.

You ever try just using frozen vegetables? Cuts my soup prep time in half.

Yeah, and it's not just about time. Skipping the chopping and washing makes it feel less like a chore, like you're just tossing stuff in instead of doing kitchen labor.

That "second job" feeling is too real. My slow cooker recipes always sound so simple, then I'm basically doing unpaid overtime just to get something edible. I swear my last stew required more focus than my actual paying work, and it still came out kinda sad.

Read somewhere that slow cookers work best with cheap, tough cuts of meat. Maybe those simple recipes assume you're using the right stuff, and it throws everything off. What kind of meat did you use?
