My $3 bag of lentils looked like a science project for a solid week
I bought a big bag of dry lentils to save money, about six months ago. They sat in my cupboard looking sad and boring, just plain brown lumps. Then I saw a video about sprouting them on a damp paper towel. After three days, they grew these weird little tails and turned bright green. My roommate walked in, saw the jar on the counter, and said, 'Did your food come alive?' Now I add a handful of the sprouts to everything for extra protein at almost no cost. Has anyone else tried sprouting beans or seeds to stretch a meal?

Got a jar of sprouting mung beans on my windowsill right now. Looks like a tiny alien forest. My cat is terrified of it.

Wait cats are scared of plants now? That's a new level of weird pet behavior. My cat tries to eat anything green that moves. Guess you've got a tiny alien forest and a tiny alien conspiracy theorist.
