Hit 40 pullups in a single set this morning and it felt wrong

Always thought 30 was my ceiling but I just pulled 40 clean reps after switching to a different grip width 3 weeks ago. Anyone else find their progress stalled on a number way lower than their actual potential?

Dang 40 is wild. I remember when I thought I couldnt do more than 15 dips and then I started doing them on rings instead of a bar and somehow hit 25 without even trying. Its funny how one little change unlocks something your body was secretly able to do the whole time.

I used to be skeptical about that kind of thing, phoenix246, but you might be onto something. I always thought my dips were capped at about a dozen, then I switched to a slight decline angle and suddenly got to eighteen without much extra effort. It really does make you wonder what else our bodies are hiding.
