My orchid refused to bloom for almost two years
I got a phalaenopsis orchid as a gift and it just sat there with green leaves. I tried moving it to different windows for more light and changed my watering schedule. After about 20 months, I finally put it in my bathroom for the humidity from showers. It sent up a flower spike within six weeks. Has anyone else had a plant that needed a super specific spot to thrive?

Totally get this. Orchids can be so stubborn about blooming. That humidity trick is real, they often need that nighttime temperature drop and moist air to trigger a spike. I've had the same plant do nothing for ages until I found its sweet spot, usually a north facing window with bright indirect light. Sometimes it's not about care but about finding that one microclimate in your house. It's frustrating but so satisfying when you finally crack the code.

My last orchid bloomed right after I put it in the bathroom and ignored it for six months. Keith900 might be onto something.
