PVA glue ruined my first leather wrap job, then saved the second one
I slathered it on thick for a travel journal cover in Austin and the leather puckered like a raisin, but a super thin coat on the second attempt bonded perfectly in 40 minutes, so has anyone else found that PVA needs to be nearly dry before touching leather?

42 minutes on my last book cloth test here in Dallas and it still felt tacky, so your nearly dry trick is probably doing more work than the glue itself. PVA just needs contact, not a wet layer, that's the part most folks skip.

My cat sat on my wet PVA wrap in San Antonio and now his fur is permanently bonded to my sketchbook.
