Why does nobody talk about how audiobook narrators change between sequels?

Our club read the first two books of a trilogy back in March, and the same narrator voiced both, so we got comfortable with the characters. Last month we started book three, and the publisher swapped in a new narrator with completely different accents and pacing, and half our discussion was about the voice instead of the plot. Has anyone else had a book club derailed by a narrator change, and how did you handle that split in the group?
