I somehow hit 1,000 pages read this month and realized I've been avoiding my own book club pick

I was patting myself on the back for finishing three novels until I realized I still haven't cracked open the book we're debating next week. How do you force yourself to read the club selection when you'd rather read literally anything else?

Used to think audiobooks were cheating but now they're my only hope.

Maybe just me but switching to audiobooks was the only way I kept up with my own book club last year. Found that listening during my commute or while doing chores made it way easier to actually finish things. It's still reading, just a different way to get through it.

1000 pages is impressive, so I'd say you earned a pass on the club pick. @paige331 has the right idea with audiobooks, but honestly, is it really that serious to skip one meeting?
