Warning: That last game night almost turned into a disaster with dice
I was running a D&D session at Dave's apartment last Saturday and one player knocked over a full soda onto the character sheets while rolling for initiative - water damage on three sheets and a soaked battle map. I had to quickly photocopy the important stats from my phone while everyone yelled, and now I keep all papers in plastic sleeves.

We started using a cheap plastic tablecloth from the dollar store that goes under everything, and it saved us twice now. Drinks have to stay on the floor or a side table, no exceptions.

My friend group had a similar thing happen but with hot sauce of all things. Someone's wing sauce got knocked over and it went right onto the dungeon master's notes for the big boss fight. We had to pause for twenty minutes while he tried to figure out what was smudged and what was just spicy stains. Now we have a strict rule about keeping all food and drinks on a separate table away from the gaming area.

Did the DM ever recover all his notes or did some of that boss fight just get permanently lost to the wing sauce mystery?
