Walked into a game store in Portland and half the tables were playing solo games
I stopped by Guardian Games in Portland last Saturday to kill an hour and noticed something strange. Out of maybe 12 tables in the back, 5 of them had one person sitting alone with a solo game or a co-op they were running two-handed. I asked the guy behind the counter about it and he said solo sales have been climbing for about 8 months now. It felt weird at first but also kind of nice, like people just want to play without the hassle of scheduling. Has anyone else seen solo play take over their local shop like this?
Wondering if 5 out of 12 tables is really a takeover or just a busy Saturday at one shop. One store in Portland does not tell us much about solo play becoming the norm everywhere. Feels more like a niche thing that happens to fit certain stores and certain nights.
