Hot take: I used to think solo board gaming was pointless

Ngl, I always saw board games as a social thing. But after trying Spirit Island on my own during a slow shift, the deep strategy won me over. Now I solo game all the time.

Solo gaming gets a bad rap for being lonely. But once you dive into a game like Spirit Island, you see the appeal of not having to explain rules to anyone. Now you can lose to a board game without anyone watching you fail.

Last night, I spent three hours on a solo Spirit Island game. Seeing @spencer_owens58 talk about this hits home. There's something special about figuring out the puzzle by yourself. No waiting for turns or teaching new players. I lost twice but kept trying without feeling judged. What's your favorite spirit to play solo?

Spirit Island solo is my jam too, and spencer_owens58 nailed the no-judgment thing. I keep coming back to River Surges in Sun since its powers build so nicely alone. It just feels more like my own quiet puzzle to solve.
