Ditched my foam dice tray for a leather one, no looking back
I used to use those $8 felt trays from the big box store, but cleaning up crumbs and spilled soda was a weekly chore. Last summer at Gen Con in Indianapolis, I picked up a hand-stitched leather tray from a small vendor for $45, and it's held up way better than I expected. The felt ones always warped after a few hot games, but this one just settles flat and wipes clean with a damp rag. Has anyone else switched to a material upgrade that actually improved your table setup, or am I just chasing a nice texture fix?

Have you tried rolling dice on a leather tray while your cat decides it's the perfect napping spot? That's my current setup. I picked up a leather one at a flea market for 30 bucks, mostly because I kept knocking over my drink on the felt one. The leather just shrugs it off, and honestly, it makes me feel less like I'm playing in a fast food booth. My only complaint is that my dice sound a bit muffled now, but that's a fair trade for not having to scrub soda out of fabric every weekend.
