That $8 jar of pasta sauce I always bought had a secret ingredient
Been buying the same brand for like 5 years. Saw a cooking video where the guy just used canned tomatoes and garlic. Made my own batch last Tuesday. Cost me $3 total and tasted way better. Why do we trust labels so much?

Feeling kinda stupid now for paying $8 a jar all those years. The can + garlic trick is a total game changer, glad you found it too.

Oh man, I feel you SO much on that. It really is wild how such a Simple little trick can save us all that money.

Is there a reason canned beans need to be rinsed before using them in most recipes (you know, to get rid of that slimy liquid)? I feel like if we’re saving money on the canned stuff, we might as well get the full benefit by using that bean liquid in soups or stews instead of throwing it out, @nancyj11. Just a thought from someone who hates wasting anything (even bean juice).
