Tried to watch that new 'epic' fantasy everyone's raving about...

Gave it three episodes and it was all slow build-up and confusing names. Switched to a tight 8-episode thriller and finished it in a weekend because every episode actually had a cliffhanger. Anyone have a show that really hooked you from the first scene?

Check out the first episode of The Night Agent. That opening scene on the train had me hitting next before the credits even rolled.

Stopped forcing myself through shows that feel like homework. Found this crime drama that opened with a car chase through a grocery store and I was just sold immediately. Sometimes you need that instant hook to make you care about the characters later. Now I drop anything that doesn't grab me in the first twenty minutes.

The Bear hooks you with that kitchen chaos right away, and you learn about the characters while you're already invested in the stress. Starting with a bang makes you want to learn the quiet details later.
