Started keeping a one page notebook per season and it fixed my 3 episode dropout problem
I have a bad habit of bailing on shows around episode 3 when I lose track of who everyone is. So about 5 months ago I started jotting down names and one line about each person on a single index card while I watch the first two episodes. Sounds silly but I got through all of The Wire in 6 weeks doing this, when it had sat unfinished on my list since 2019. Curious if anyone else does something like this, or if you just power through and hope it clicks.
Oh man I wish a single index card was enough for me. I tried doing this with The Sopranos and my "card" turned into four pages front and back because I kept adding stuff like "the guy who owns the pork store, not the other guy who owns the pork store." Then I'd look at my own notes mid episode and still go wait, is that the same guy from the hospital? My husband now thinks I'm doing homework when he walks by and sees me scribbling names down during what's supposed to be our relaxing TV time. You clearly have way better note discipline than I do.
