Three parking tickets in two days made me check the city code

I moved to Portland last month for a job and parked on the same street for a week without issue. Then suddenly I got 3 tickets in 48 hours, all for street sweeping on different days. I looked up the city's public works schedule and found out my block gets swept on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 6am, plus the last Friday for leaf pickup. That's 3 separate times I never knew about, and the signs were faded to almost nothing. Cost me $165 total before I figured it out. Has anyone else gotten blindsided by weird local parking rules after a move?

Man, $165 is brutal... I once paid $210 in Chicago before I realized my new street had overnight snow route rules that only kicked in when there was more than two inches of accumulation. Never even saw a sign, they were all buried under the snow anyway. At least you got three tickets and one lesson, I got six tickets and zero brain cells about parking. But honestly, faded signs should be illegal, it's like the city's playing hide and seek with your wallet. I now take a photo of every sign on a new block before I park, feels crazy but it's cheaper than the alternative...
