Overheard a colleague say moving for a job is 'running away', is that ever true?

Yesterday at lunch, someone said my planned relocation to Phoenix was just avoiding problems back home, not starting fresh. I get the caution, but isn't a big change sometimes the push you need to finally grow up? Has anyone else had a move that looked like a escape but turned out to be the best reset?

Running away" sounds harsh, but honestly my cousin moved to Ohio after a breakup and ended up meeting her now husband at a gas station, so sometimes the universe just needs you to switch zip codes to get your life together.
