Comparing my old job's 401k match to my new one after 2 years

I moved from a small company in Austin that matched 3% to a bigger firm in Dallas that matches 6%. At first I thought the higher salary was the bigger win, but after running the numbers over two years, the match difference adds up to about $4,800 extra in retirement. The old job also made us wait a full year to vest, while the new one vests after six months. That waiting period really matters when you're thinking about leaving, because I walked away with zero from the first place. Has anyone else compared vesting schedules before taking a new position, or is that usually an afterthought?

wait so did you actually calculate what that 6 month vesting difference is worth in real cash? cause im curious if the $4800 number already factors in the fact that youd have gotten nothing from the first place anyway, or if thats just the straight match difference on its own.
