PSA: That $600 online course on 'healing your inner child' was a total dud

I fell for one of those Instagram ads back in February. A woman with a calming voice promised to help me process childhood stuff in just 6 weeks. Paid $600 upfront. Week one was just a PDF about journaling. By week three she was just linking to her affiliate products for candles and crystals. I tried to get my money back but the refund window was only 7 days. I felt so stupid for spending grocery money on something that felt like a bad YouTube video. Has anyone else gotten hooked by a flashy course that didn't deliver anything real?

The "affiliate links by week three" was my red flag too, but what got me was how these courses never mention that actual trauma processing usually needs a licensed therapist, not a six-week coupon code.

Licensed therapist not a six week coupon code" - that's gold. Reminds me of my cousin who bought one of those "heal your inner child" courses and ended up in my DMs at 2am crying about how she still couldn't talk to her mom. The creator just sent her an email saying "have you tried the premium coaching tier?
