The wooden bench at Hartsfield-Jackson made me rethink airport design

I sat on one of those old wooden benches in terminal B last month and noticed everyone walking past me staring at their phones while the whole row of new charging stations sat empty, so is it just me or did we trade good people-watching for bad posture?

Yeah the charging stations being empty while everyone's glued to their phones really proves your point, that's rough.

you're acting like folks sitting on phones is some new tragedy but @dakotab93 pretty much summed it up, people have always zoned out in airports it's just screens now instead of newspapers, and honestly the empty charging stations probably just meant everyone's batteries were fine that day, not some deep sign about design or posture. There were probably ten other benches doing the exact same thing and nobody cried about those. If the wood bench made you rethink things that's cool, but I'm not sure one slow afternoon at terminal B counts as a pattern.
