The day my daughter's old radio finally made sense
It was a Tuesday in early May, maybe four years back. I was cleaning out the garage and found her little yellow radio, the one she carried everywhere when she was six. I put in fresh batteries and hit play. A tinny recording of her singing a made-up song about clouds came out. I had forgotten I'd even taped it. I just sat on the concrete floor and listened to the whole thing. Has anyone else found a lost recording that hit you like that?

That's so sweet. It's wild how those old tapes just hold onto a piece of someone's childhood like that. Makes you wonder what else is hiding in boxes around the house, right?

Right? It's crazy what those old boxes can hide. I found a shoebox full of my kindergarten drawings last year and it totally took me back. Felt like opening a time capsule.

What kind of stuff do you hope you never find in those boxes? Like, I'm picturing some truly awful middle school poetry or a stack of embarrassing photos from that one phase.
