Just realized my old neighborhood park has no basketball court anymore
I drove back to the town I grew up in last weekend, first time in maybe 12 years. Parked at the old playground and walked toward where the basketball court used to be. It's just grass now, like it was never there. The backboard and hoop I spent hundreds of afternoons shooting at, gone. They replaced it with one of those little free library boxes and a bench. I asked a guy walking his dog about it and he said the court got taken out around 2015 for a flood drainage project. Nobody petitioned to keep it. That spot was where I learned to hit a ten foot jumper, where my buddies and I argued about fouls for hours. Has anyone else gone back to a place from your childhood and found something just vanished?

OH GREAT, so now instead of learning to hit clutch jumpers, kids are learning to... read? What a TRADE. Next they'll take out the swings and put in a tax preparation kiosk.

Haha right? My neighborhood did something similar, put in a little lending library right where the old basketball hoop used to be. I saw a kid sitting on the curb reading a cookbook last week, not a jump shot in sight. World's changing I guess, take the wins where you can find em.

Did they at least put the free library box where the three point line used to be?
