I finally noticed the old church clock in my town after 12 years

Last Tuesday I was walking home from the grocery store and stopped at the corner of Maple and 3rd. There's this little brick church I pass every single day. But that day the sun hit the clock face just right and I saw it was still ticking. I asked the groundskeeper about it, he said it's been running since 1911 and a retired mechanic winds it every Sunday. Nobody in town ever talks about it, but it's probably the oldest working thing we have. Has anyone else got a quiet landmark like that they just walked past forever?

That's wild, I love stuff like that. There's an old water fountain in the park near my place that's been running since the 1920s, and I walked by it for years until my dog stopped to drink from it one day and I actually read the plaque. Now I point it out to anyone who'll listen, feels like a secret the town forgot it was keeping.
