Tried wrapping my brisket in butcher paper for the first time and it came out looking like a science experiment

I finally gave in and tried the pink butcher paper method last Saturday on a 14 pound prime packer. Everything was going great until I opened the smoker after the wrap and the paper had this weird purple tint to it. Spent 20 minutes googling if I poisoned my family before I found out it's just the smoke reacting with the paper. Has anyone else had their brisket look like a chemistry project?

Slam that thing back on the smoker unwrapped for another hour or so, it'll fix the color and tighten up the bark (learned that one the hard way myself).

Keep it. Call it "smoked grape" and tell everyone it's an artisan technique. Nobody will know the difference.
