Pro tip: check your bank's ATM fee reimbursement policy before traveling

I got hit with $18 in fees from three different ATMs in Chicago last weekend because I assumed my bank covered everything out of state. Turns out they only refund fees up to $5 per statement cycle. Has anyone else run into this fine print trick with their bank?

Nah, $5 per cycle isn't great but that's on you for not reading the fine print before you left. Most banks are pretty clear about their ATM fee policies if you actually check.
