I started rounding every purchase up to the next dollar in my checking app and the number after 6 months surprised me
Back in March I turned on round ups in my banking app mostly as a joke, thinking it would move maybe $20 a month into savings. Six months later I checked and it had moved $214.37, which is way more than I guessed since I buy coffee and lunch a lot on my debit card. I mean it's not life changing money but it came out of stuff I was already buying, so it felt like finding cash in a coat pocket. The weird part is I never noticed the extra cents leaving at all. Has anyone else tried this and did the total end up higher or lower than you figured?
Did you ever notice how the same thing happens with subscriptions, little charges you never see until you add them up? Round ups are like the good version of that, they hide the savings from you on purpose.
