My dad tasted my first sourdough loaf and just said 'this is bread'
He didn't say it was good or bad, just that it was bread. I had been trying to get a decent rise for 2 months and that one comment made me feel like I finally got it right. Anyone else have a simple moment like that from a family member?

My grandpa once called my scrambled eggs "edible." Best compliment ever.

Two things though, first "edible" is actually a pretty high bar for scrambled eggs since most people overcook them into rubber. Second, you should know that kind of compliment from a grandpa is basically a five-star review in old people language. So take that W and frame it.
