I just found out that the Great Wall of China isn't visible from space with the naked eye

I was reading a random article from 2021 while waiting for my coffee, and it said astronauts like Chris Hadfield confirmed it. Apologies for my face when I realized every textbook I read in 7th grade was wrong. Did anyone else grow up believing this lie too?

Hadfield also said if you know exactly where to look, the Great Wall is barely visible from low Earth orbit under perfect conditions. So it's not totally a lie, more like a marketing exaggeration that got out of hand.

Nah, the Great Wall isn't visible from orbit at all. That's the real myth.
