Well, there's nothing like a neighbor's nice new patio to show you your own grand plan is just a desert dust bowl waiting to happen. Guess that's what they call learning the hard way, or maybe the hot and thirsty way. Bet he could have saved you a lot of time and a huge water bill. Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself before the sun bakes all your grass brown.

My cousin in Phoenix spent a fortune on xeriscaping and still hates the look. Sometimes a green lawn is worth the water.
