Rant: my $40 DIY rain barrel turned my patio into a mud pit last Saturday
The spigot I siliconed on popped loose around 2am and dumped 55 gallons across the pavers before I woke up. Anyone got a fitting that actually holds, or am I doomed to drill a second hole and pray?

Made the same mistake with silicone on my first barrel and learned the hard way that it never bonds to poly. Grab a bulkhead fitting with a rubber gasket instead, the kind with a nut on both sides, and it will outlive you.
