Tried the 3M tape trick on a peeling door edge and it held up through a Michigan winter
Had a 2015 Silverado come in last November with the door edge guard lifting on the front passenger side and the owner did not want to pay for a full repaint. I cleaned the edge with 91% isopropyl alcohol, hit it with a heat gun at about 150 degrees, then pressed on a strip of 3M double-sided molding tape and clamped it for 20 minutes. It is mid April here in Grand Rapids now and the thing is still stuck down with no bubbling or lift. Curious if any of you have used a different prep combo for cold weather repairs, because I am worried about the next one that comes in during a January cold snap.
