I called BS on that "paintless dent repair" demo at a trade show in Dallas, and my 2019 F-150 tailgate is why I owe the guy an apology
So back in March I stopped by a booth at a trade show in Dallas because a guy was pulling dents out of a hood with what looked like fancy salad tongs, and I stood there thinking this has to be a trick. I have been beating metal for 22 years, so in my world you either hammer it out or you break out the filler, no shortcuts. He kept saying "give me a panel, any panel," and I finally told him fine, because my silver 2019 F-150 had a crease in the tailgate from a run in with a trailer hitch. He worked that thing for about 25 minutes with a glue puller and some little rods through the latch hole, and I swear it came out cleaner than some jobs I have block sanded for a whole afternoon. No filler, no repaint, no blend into the bedside. I was so sure he was full of it that I had already grabbed a business card just to make fun of it later with the guys in the shop. Now I am sitting here wondering how many insurance jobs I have been doing the hard way. Any of you running a glue pull setup in a real production shop, and does it actually hold up on hail work or fleet stuff?
