Two Austin startups in my building had opposite weeks, and I can't tell who did it the smart way
Last Tuesday I was grabbing coffee on Rainey and ran into a guy from a 12 person seed stage shop who said they'd just signed a lease on a second floor while a fintech down the hall cut 9 people the same afternoon. One side says you grab space and talent while it's cheap and everyone else is scared, the other says you hoard cash and stay small until the market stops moving. I keep going back and forth on which one I'd pick if it were my call. Curious what folks around here would do.
