Back in 2018, I was so proud of my stacked Jupiter shot until a guy at the star party asked what my flats were. I had no idea.

Wait, you didn't know what flats were in 2018? That's wild to me, even for planetary. I mean, @blair_taylor32 has a point about not letting perfect process kill the fun, but that's a pretty basic step to skip. It's like trying to bake a cake without greasing the pan first. You still get a cake, but cleaning up the mess later is so much harder.

Honestly, who even needs flats for planetary? That guy was just showing off. You got a great shot of Jupiter, and that's what actually matters. Getting too hung up on perfect process can suck all the fun right out of the hobby. Sometimes you just gotta point the scope at the sky and enjoy what you see.

I get where blair_taylor32 is coming from, but a good flat can really clean up those dust donuts and uneven field illumination, even for planetary.
