Just had a chat with my neighbor that made me realize I've been answering questions wrong this whole time

He said 'you don't need to have the perfect answer, you just need to point them in the right direction.' Has anyone else had a moment like that change how they help people here?

What kind of questions were you trying to give perfect answers to before? Like, were they super technical things or more about life advice?

Honestly, it was mostly dumb stuff... like trying to craft the perfect reply to a text from someone I like. Would spend twenty minutes on three words. Real technical, right? Life advice is too heavy, but overthinking a "haha yeah" is my true skill. The quest for the perfect casual tone is a trap.

The quest for the perfect casual tone is a real trap, @davis.noah. You end up sounding like a robot trying to pass a human test. It's better to just send the thing and let the chips fall.
