I spent $200 on a 'premium' online course that was just a bunch of recycled blog posts

Bought a course about building a community forum six months ago, thinking it would have real strategies. It was just over 40 videos of a guy reading articles you can find for free. The whole thing felt like a cash grab with no new info. Has anyone actually found a good resource for this stuff that isn't a scam?

Spencer782, I get what you're saying about liking to learn at your own pace. The problem isn't that the course was pre-recorded, it's that the content itself was just repackaged free stuff. You can have a great self-paced course with original, well-structured material. The guy in this case just read blog posts out loud, which adds zero value no matter how you watch it.

Yeah that's super common these days... heard a podcast saying the real value is in active communities, not pre-recorded videos. Maybe look for something with live coaching or a small group.

Pre-recorded stuff actually works better for my learning style. I can pause, rewind, and go at my own pace. Live groups move too fast and depend on other people's schedules. Sometimes the best community is just having the material to work through on your own time.

Maybe the real lesson was learning to spot scams?
