I lost $150 on a 'quick fix' SEO course that was just recycled blog posts
The guy promised to teach me how to rank any site, but the videos were just him reading old articles you can find for free. I wasted a full month following his bad advice before my traffic actually dropped. Has anyone found a real, helpful guide for beginners that doesn't cost a fortune?

A hundred fifty dollars is a rough lesson, but it's not the end of the world. People drop that much on a bad dinner out. The whole "quick fix" SEO idea was the first red flag. Real changes take time, and most of the basics are documented for free by Google itself. Your traffic drop might just be a normal fluctuation, not directly from that course.

Yeah rubyk26 is right, that "quick fix" promise is always a scam. It's like those ads for getting ripped in 30 days while eating pizza. Google's own guides are dry but free, and traffic dips happen all the time for no reason. My buddy panicked last month when his site dropped, then it bounced back higher a week later. That course probably just sold you common sense with a fancy PDF wrapper.

Totally agree with the quick fix warning. Google's free guides cover all the basics you actually need. That money stings now but it's better than wasting months on bad advice.
