Had to choose between two very different ways to ask a question online

I was stuck on a plumbing issue at home and needed advice. I could either post a super vague 'Help with my sink?' or take the time to write a detailed post with photos and the specific model number. I went with the detailed option, posting it on a DIY forum. Within an hour, someone pinpointed the exact faulty part based on my photo. Has anyone else found that putting in the extra detail upfront saves a ton of back-and-forth?

Sometimes a vague question gets you a fresh perspective you wouldn't have considered.

I asked my friend what I should do with my life last week and he just said "be cooler." That was so unhelpful but also weirdly freeing, like it reset my brain. Now I'm trying to learn guitar because apparently that's what cool people do. I'm still terrible at it, but at least I'm thinking about something new.

Totally get that. I spent a whole weekend trying to fix my dryer with a vague post. Finally uploaded a video of the noise it made. Someone identified the worn belt immediately. The extra detail is always worth it.
