Hot take: Pencil sketches of ruins beat all that high-tech gear

Did a field project in Greece last year. They had us use scanners and drones. My hand drawn maps showed stuff the machines missed. Like a hidden door outline in a wall. Trust the old ways, people.

So what kind of details are we talking about here? My phone's camera just smooths everything out until it looks like plastic. I tried to sketch a rusty bike chain and all the grit and grime actually showed up, but a photo app would just erase it. Guess being bad at drawing has its perks.

Guess the best tech is still a pencil and a bad memory. My messy lines find cracks the fancy gear just polishes over. The future is analog, people.
