Accidentally dug up a 1940s soda bottle in my mom's backyard in Fresno

I was helping my mom plant some rose bushes last Saturday in Fresno and my shovel hit something hard. Turned out to be a glass Coca-Cola bottle from 1947, still intact with the old script logo. My neighbor who does metal detecting said it might be worth 40 bucks but honestly I just think it's cool to hold something that's been buried for almost 80 years. Anyone else find random stuff while gardening that turned out to be old?

Yeah that metal detecting neighbor is probably off on the $40 thing. Most 1940s Coke bottles aren't crazy rare, especially in California where they made a ton of them. Maybe if it's got a weird local bottler mark or some flaw it could be worth more, but honestly the fun part is just finding it, not the price. I dug up an old milk bottle once in my grandma's yard and thought it was something special, turned out the dairy was three blocks away and they made millions of them. Still cool to think about who drank from it though.
