Rant: I owe my boss an apology for that group project disaster
I spent 3 hours making a spreadsheet for our marketing team's presentation last Tuesday, but I accidentally deleted the final row of data because I was too confident in my Excel skills. My boss had to re-pull the numbers while I stood there red-faced, and now I owe him a real written apology I'll never send. Has anyone else's laziness on a simple task snowballed into a whole mess like this?

Used to think these things didn't matter that much. This post totally changed my mind. Small mistakes can really snowball into huge headaches.

Really depends on the situation though. Sometimes sweating the small stuff just makes you second-guess everything and slows you down. I've had times where following every tiny rule actually made things worse by killing my momentum.

Fair point, but ignoring small stuff is how you find yourself in a real mess down the road.
